Diana Gomez

Diana GomezDiana Gomez is the chair of The SHPE Foundation, the educational foundation for the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE). As the chair, Diana leads the education foundation in directing and developing informal science education, educational enrichment, college awareness initiatives and college prep programs for Hispanic students. Diana’s history with SHPE spans more than 20 years. Most recently, Diana served as the National President. Under her guidance as president, SHPE developed an array of programs.  She was the first person to be elected as president for a third two-year term.

She is also the Chief of the Office of System Management Operations with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and has worked with Caltrans for 23 years. Diana earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at California State University, Fresno. Diana has been recognized as one of the 100 Most Influential Hispanics by Hispanic Business and as one of the top 100 Hispanics in the technical field by Hispanic Engineer.
