Cornell Expanding Your Horizons

Expand Your Horizons (EYH) is a one-day conference for 7th-9th grade girls established at Cornell in 1987. The volunteer run conference aspires to stimulate the participants' interest in math, science and engineering through hands-on activities, interaction with female scientist role models, and fostering awareness of opportunities in quantitative-based careers. These activities afford the girls many opportunities to interact individually with women and supportive male role models in math, science and engineering ranging from undergraduates to graduate students, professors and industry scientists and engineers.

This years workshop planning is focusing on diversity recruitment and at-risk youth. We are providing additional funds to get students to the conference in Ithaca, NY and are taking 5 workshops to a local girls detention center housing ~45 young women.
